Nigel Lawson - Former Chancellor of the Exchequer Lord Lawson was a huge media character during his tenure as Chancellor, a role he held for most of the Thatcher years. He later wrote a hugely acclaimed and popular book called 'The view from No.10 - Memoirs of a Tory Radical' which were full of his memories, his views on economics and politics and his stance on hot economic topics such as Europe, the single European currency, modern democracy and unemployment. At a time when the issue of Europe and Britain's role within it is subject to ongoing debate, his arguments still have great relevance today. Lord Lawson today His interests nowadays are primarily on the politics and economics of climate change, a topic which is at the forefront of society's minds as the consequences of pollution, extreme weather conditions and the scientific link with man's involvement in global warming start to become clear. He has written a best selling book on the topic called 'An Appeal to Reason - A Cool Look at Global Warming' which has since been translated into a number of other languages. Lord Lawson's role within Government is by no means ended either.
